, you'll play a vital role in ensuring patient care equipment is clean, sanitized, safe, and ready when it's needed. From IV pumps and stretchers to other essential medical equipment, your attention to detail helps protect patients, support caregivers, and maintain a safe healthcare environment.
This specialized role focuses on the equipment patients rely on every day. Through cleaning, disinfecting, inspecting, and servicing patient care equipment, you'll help prevent the spread of infection and ensure critical equipment is available for patient care.

Job Function
This position is responsible for performing general housekeeping tasks to maintain the facility and associated buildings in a sanitary, safe, and attractive condition and to meet hospital and Joint Commission standards.
Essential Functions
- Clean and disinfect assigned areas using department cleaning procedures.
- Uses cleaning chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards.
- Understands procedures and properly disposes of infectious waste and trash.
- Handles and cleans up emergency spills per department guideline, Joint commission, and OSHA standards.
- Follows all infection prevention practices (i.e. proper cleaning and disinfection protocols and process, hand hygiene, standard & isolation precautions, as well as proper donning and doffing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Maintains work and storage areas following established policy and procedures to ensure safety

Qualifications
Required
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- Biohazardous Waste is required within 6 months of hire and AHE (Association for Healthcare Environment) CHEST (Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Technician) and UV are required at certain care sites
- One (1) year of experience in environmental services is required
