Maximus is seeking a Behavioral Health Clinician to provide behavioral healthcare, counseling, case management, and clinical support services for Special Operations Forces (SOF) personnel and their families. This role supports the psychological, social, and operational readiness of Service Members by addressing the unique challenges of military life, supporting recovery and resilience, and collaborating closely with interdisciplinary care teams, medical personnel, legal authorities, commanders, schools, and other stakeholders.

The Behavioral Health Clinician also participates in approved research, clinical investigations, and quality improvement activities to strengthen behavioral health services within the SOF community.

U.S. citizenship is required. Candidates must possess an active U.S. Government Secret security clearance or be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance as required for contract performance. This position is pending upon contract award.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Supervise a team of employees through cultivation of a high performance team.
  • Ensure adequate staff coverage for assigned program area.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for identified area of program knowledge.
  • Ensure assigned team is meeting contract and individual SLA's, and related requirements.
  • Work with contract management and shared services to identify opportunities for improvement and efficiencies.
  • May attend client and stakeholder meetings.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Attend and participate in meetings during normal duty hours, professional staff conferences, quality improvement meetings, professional staff meetings, commander’s staff meetings, and other appropriate professional activities required by applicable regulations or directed by the unit Commander or designee.
  • Conduct USSOCOM/POTFF-approved applied research and clinical investigations at the clinical, behavioral health, and/or organizational levels.
  • Apply professional practice procedures and techniques, including interviewing, behavioral assessment, and evidence-based therapies, in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of psychological and neuropsychological disorders.
  • Provide individual, family, group, and couples therapy, as well as alcohol and drug treatment evaluations.
  • Consult with medical personnel, legal authorities, military commanders, and school districts as required.
