The Physical Therapist Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Lewisville, TX, supporting licensed Physical Therapists in providing high-quality rehabilitative care in the home health setting. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing established treatment plans, assisting patients with therapeutic exercises and mobility training, and monitoring patient progress to report clinically relevant changes to the supervising Physical Therapist. The role involves educating patients and caregivers on safe techniques, use of assistive devices, and home exercise programs, while promoting comfort, safety, and functional independence.
The Physical Therapist Assistant will document care accurately, coordinate scheduling to meet patient needs, and collaborate with the broader clinical team to ensure consistent, effective care delivery. This position requires adherence to regulatory and ethical standards, strong communication with patients and families, and a commitment to maintaining a respectful, inclusive environment.
- Demonstrated skills in Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation to implement treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
- Strong Patient Care and Quality Patient Care skills, with the ability to deliver safe, compassionate, and individualized home health services.
- Knowledge of Orthopedics sufficient to assist with musculoskeletal rehabilitation, therapeutic exercises, and mobility training.
- Current licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in the state of Texas, or eligibility to obtain it before start date.
- Experience in home health or related clinical settings is preferred, including familiarity with interdisciplinary care coordination.
- Ability to perform the physical demands of the role, including assisting with transfers, positioning, and use of mobility devices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including accurate clinical documentation and clear patient and caregiver education.
- Reliability, professional integrity, and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
