Wisconsin Well Woman Program Health Educator
DPH works with our local and Tribal public health partners, and community groups statewide, on a wide variety of programs and services that protect the health of Wisconsin residents.
This position offers the option to work remotely up to 5 days per week and will be headquartered at one of the DPH central or regional offices . You must have access to both a private workspace and high-speed internet if working remotely. A greater in-office presence may be required periodically for meetings, events, training, onboarding, or other operational needs.

As the (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). Health Educator, you will lead all aspects of the WWWP’s outreach and health education components. This program provides breast and cervical cancer screening services to low income, uninsured, or underinsured clients.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing education and outreach activities with the provider network, coordinating agencies, Wisconsin’s Tribal Nations, local health departments, patient navigators, academic partners, community partners, and other organizations, providing education and clinical services to individuals eligible for breast and cervical cancer screening.
- Working closely with the provider network conveying technical assistance on provider participation requirements, provider reimbursement, client eligibility, and Wisconsin Well Woman Medicaid, the treatment component for program clients diagnosed with breast and cervical cancers.
- Collaborating with and providing statewide consultation and technical assistance to local public health departments, community-based organizations, and other public and private sector partners to ensure the breast and cervical cancer prevention of clients served by the are addressed.
- Conducting needs assessments; planning, implementing, and evaluating the effectiveness of health education programs.
- Conducting quality improvement efforts.
The starting pay is between $34.75 to $36.50 per hour (approximately between $72,200 and $75,900 per year) depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits. A 12-month probationary period will be required.
Pay for current or former employees is set based on the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. This position is classified as a Public Health Educator – Senior and is in pay schedule and range 11/04.
All applicants who may be appointed to this position will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled.
For positions that allow remote working flexibility, working outside of Wisconsin or in bordering cities will not be allowed except in extremely limited circumstances due to the need to report to an office location in Wisconsin on short notice.
Mileage reimbursement to the employee’s headquarter location is not provided. Remote work flexibility will be discussed in more detail during the interview process.
