Functional Family Therapy (FFT) Therapist

The Center for Justice Innovation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing community safety and racial justice. Since 1996, we've worked alongside communities, courts, and those most directly affected by the justice system to build stronger, healthier, and more equitable neighborhoods. With a team of over 900 staff and an annual budget of $130 million, the Center carries out its mission through three core strategies: operating programs that pilot new ideas and address local challenges;

conducting original research to evaluate what works—and what doesn't; and providing expert assistance and policy guidance to reformers across the country and beyond.

The Queens Community Justice Center is seeking to hire a Functional Family Therapy (FFT) Therapist for a community-based violence prevention program that aims to reduce violent recidivism through intensive and voluntary therapeutic services. The FFT Therapist will report to the Justice Center's FFT Supervisor. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Actively participate in community events alongside team members to foster local connections and support;
  • Manage a caseload of up to 12 cases, maintaining both electronic and physical files, ensuring accurate and timely documentation;
  • Record progress notes promptly in the CSS system, meeting FFT requirements for external reporting and data tracking;
  • Collaborate with the therapy team, participating in weekly team meetings and individual supervision sessions;
  • Facilitate access to appropriate services and resources for families, addressing both clinical needs and practical supports;
  • Travel to and from client homes as required to deliver therapy and support;
  • Participate in all FFT training, supervision, and consultation activities to maintain high standards and model fidelity; and
  • Additional tasks as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • A Master's degree in social work, counseling, education, or other relevant human service profession required;
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred; and
