Medical Assistant
We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented, and highly organized Bilingual Spanish Medical Assistant to support our team. This role is responsible for providing clinical and administrative support while serving as a key communication bridge for Spanish‑speaking patients. The ideal candidate is comfortable with patient‑facing interactions, live medical interpretation, video‑based patient intakes, and managing multiple tasks in a fast‑paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities- Room patients, obtain vital signs, and accurately document medical histories and patient information.
- Assist physicians and therapists during orthopedic, sports medicine, physical therapy visits, and minor procedures.
- Provide clear and accurate Spanish-English communication and live medical interpretation between providers and patients.
- Conduct patient intakes and occasional clinical conversations via video call.
- Educate patients on treatment plans, follow-up instructions, and basic physical therapy exercises as directed by providers.
- Prepare, clean, and maintain examination rooms, medical instruments, and clinical supplies.
- Document patient encounters, referrals, imaging requests, therapy notes, and follow-up activities in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Support physical therapy workflows, including patient preparation and coordination of therapy-related activities.
- Answer patient calls, coordinate appointments, relay clinical messages, and provide excellent customer service using Ring Central or similar phone/communication systems.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, physical therapists, medical assistants, and administrative staff to ensure efficient daily operations.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and clinic policies at all times.
- Perform additional clinical or administrative duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required;
Medical Assistant training or certification preferred. - Fluent in both Spanish and English (spoken and written) with strong medical interpretation skills.
- Previous experience in Orthopedics, Sports Medicine, Physical Therapy, or a related clinical specialty preferred.
- Experience working with electronic health records (EHR/EMR systems) required.
- Comfortable using video conferencing platforms for patient interactions.
- Experience with Ring Central or similar communication systems preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
