Are you a compassionate mental health professional who thrives on helping others navigate life's most challenging experiences? Novant Health is seeking a dedicated Trauma Therapist to provide evidence-based, trauma-informed care to individuals impacted by trauma, abuse, violence, grief, and other life-altering events.
At our outpatient Behavioral Health Clinic, you will work with individuals in need of general on going counseling and mental health crises, providing immediate clinical assessments, therapeutic interventions, and stabilization planning. This role is essential to helping patients regain safety, hope, and direction—when they need it most.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychosocial and trauma-focused assessments.
- Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs.
- Provide immediate counseling to individuals experiencing suicidal thoughts, depression or pyschotic episodes
- Provide individual, family, and group therapy as appropriate
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, nurses, and care coordinators
- Ensure safety planning, appropriate referrals, and follow-up care
- Maintain thorough documentation and contribute to clinical quality initiatives
- Education: Graduate Degree, required. Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or related field, required.
- Experience: Minimum of three years experience, required.
- Licensure/Certification:
- Licensed Clinical Mental Health Clinician, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage and Family Counselor or Clinic Phd/PsyD level Psychologist; required.
- For the Substance Use Therapist role, Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist or Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist Associate with above required license; preferred.
- NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions within 3 months of hire. Team members in strictly remote positions are exempt. Team members working strictly in behavioral health outpatient clinics are exempt from state approved curricula but are required to take NEC
0170 De-escalation Techniques and Effective Communication Strategies within 3 months of hire. Required.

Good working knowledge of computers. Ability to care for Behavioral Health Age Specific populations.
