Salary Range: $20.00 To $25.00 Hourly
Position SummaryThe Autism & Developmental Disabilities Monitoring (ADDM) Data Abstractor supports the CDC's ADDM Network by reviewing and abstracting medical and educational records of children with autism or suspected autism. This role works closely with the Public Health Genetics program, ADDM Project Coordinator, and Data & Surveillance team to ensure accurate data collection and program support.
Key Responsibilities- Review and abstract medical and educational records using REDCap, EMRs, and education record systems.
- Complete daily chart abstractions to meet CDC ADDM Network requirements.
- Collaborate with ADDM staff and participate in program meetings and initiatives.
- Maintain hospital contacts and project documentation.
- Assist with educational materials, website content, and autism-related projects.
- Respond to inquiries and direct them to appropriate staff.
- Ensure confidentiality and compliance with CDC and state guidelines.
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Nursing, Genetics, Early Childhood Education, Special Education, or a related field.
- 2+ years of clinical/medical abstraction experience.
- 2+ years of experience with REDCap, electronic medical records (EMR), and web-based database systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience handling confidential information.
- Preferred:
Knowledge of autism spectrum disorder or developmental disabilities and experience working with hospitals or healthcare providers. - Remote position with occasional travel as needed.
- Reports to the ADDM Project Coordinator.
