The Occupational Therapist leads specialized rehabilitation assessments and interventions, mentors junior staff, and drives quality improvement and program development. They address functional deficits across daily living activities, cognitive and perceptual skills, and physical capabilities, promoting patient independence, safety, and participation within the community and healthcare system.

Job Scope:

The Occupational Therapist provides expert clinical leadership within outpatient or inpatient rehabilitation services. Responsibilities include comprehensive evaluations of clients with neurological, orthopedic, lymphedema, mental health, or pediatric needs; development of individualized intervention plans; and delivery of advanced occupational therapy services. They supervise and mentor junior therapists, support student education, and contribute to clinical governance, policy development, and care pathways. The role collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to optimize functional outcomes, streamline care transitions, and coordinate with caregivers, schools, employers, and community organizations.

They may lead specialty programs (e.g., hand therapy, cognitive rehabilitation, sensory integration) and participate in research, quality improvement, and outcome measurement. The Senior OT ensures adherence to evidence-based practices, safety, and regulatory requirements while promoting client-centered care, cultural competence, and community reintegration. The position supports professional development, service expansion, and advocacy for patients’ participation in daily life.

Job Requirements:
  • Education and Experience:
Educations and Certificates:
  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy.
  • Valid Saudi Commission License as Senior Specialist.
  • Valid BLS.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical OT experience with demonstrated leadership or mentorship roles.
  • Experience in assessment, goal setting, activity analysis, and evidence-based interventions.
  • Involvement in quality improvement, clinical governance, and outcome tracking.
Skills and Professional Knowledge:
  • Broad OT expertise across independence in activities of daily living, work rehabilitation, cognitive/ perceptual rehabilitation, and environmental adaptation.
  • Advanced assessment, problem-solving, and activity analysis; treatment planning and outcome measurement.
  • Leadership and mentoring capabilities; teamwork and collaborative practice.
  • Strong communication, education, and patient/family coaching skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant guidelines, protocols, safety, and risk management.
  • Proficiency with EHRs, documentation, and data-driven practice.
  • Commitment to client-centered care, ethics, and professional development.
Language:
  • Proficiency in written, read and spoken Arabic and English languages

  • Conduct comprehensive OT assessments across domains (ADLs, work, leisure, cognition, perception).
  • Design, implement, and adjust individualized intervention plans; monitor progress and adjust goals.
  • Educate clients and families on strategies for independence and home/work adaptations.
  • Provide supervision and advanced practice guidance to junior therapists; clinical teaching.
  • Lead outcomes measurement, audits, and participation in research or program evaluation.
  • Contribute to risk management, incident reporting, and quality initiatives.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, physiotherapists, and other stakeholders; coordinate care transitions.
  • Support service development, specialization programs, and continuing professional development.
  • Advocate for clients’ rights to participation and community access.
