CT Radiology Supervisor

Provide leadership, guidance, and support to all CT staff at UH, Children's and Women's Hospital (C&W), & Pavilion Hospital.

The CT Radiology Supervisor supports the CT Manager in overseeing clinical, operational, quality, and staff-management activities for CT services at University Hospital, Pavilion, and Women's Hospital (C&W).

• Supervise, schedule, orient, train, coach, counsel, and evaluate CT technologists and patient care associates.
• Communicate job expectations; monitor performance; complete annual evaluations; recommend compensation actions; and ensure compliance with departmental policies, certifications, mandatory education, and competency requirements.
• Develop and maintain a working knowledge of applicable union agreements and consistently apply union standards, contractual obligations, and departmental policies to daily leadership decisions, staffing practices, employee relations, and corrective-action processes.
• Assist the CT Manager in managing daily clinical operations and assume responsibility for the department in the Manager’s absence.
• Coordinate staffing, assignments, schedules, and workflows to support safe, efficient, patient-centered care and meet changing patient-volume demands.
• Monitor productivity, patient wait times, quality indicators, and service standards; identify operational barriers and implement improvements.
• Resolve complex patient-care, staffing, technical, workflow, and customer-service concerns in collaboration with radiologists, physicians, nursing, MRI, and ancillary teams.
• Lead and support quality assurance, quality control, ACR accreditation, Joint Commission imaging requirements, and other regulatory, safety, and patient-care standards.
• Partner with radiologists, the Protocol Team, scheduling, and operational leadership to support CT protocols, MiChart optimization, visit-type changes, and workflow improvements.
• Participate in the selection, testing, installation, acceptance, and implementation of CT imaging equipment, computer-processing systems, and new technology.
• Coordinate with vendors, Engineering, IT, faculty, and leadership to evaluate technology enhancements, advanced imaging applications, and equipment-related concerns.
• Assist with staff recruitment, capital planning, budget monitoring, Lean initiatives, and other departmental projects.
• Represent CT in meetings and collaborate with internal and external partners to advance departmental, divisional, and institutional goals.

• Bachelor's degree in a related health science or an equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary.
• Qualified candidates have graduated from an accredited school for radiologic technology or related field.
• A.R.R.T. certification and five years of progressive radiology experience.
• Must be able to problem-solve using good judgment.
• Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to positively represent the department to internal and external customers. Effectively prioritize workload to meet deadlines in a timely manner.
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills. Technical expertise in adult imaging techniques.
• BLS Certified

• Experience in a leadership role, preferably in a health care environment.
• Prior management experience.
• Knowledge of the EPIC EMR system.
• Willing to be flexible with hours of operation and sites of operation.
• Proven on the job leadership skills.
• Demonstrate ability to problem solve, address staffing needs, and meet operational needs.
• Previous scheduling and complex schedule building experience strongly preferred.

Work hours may vary based on departmental needs. The typical schedule is 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, with a potential four 10-hour shift schedule of 1:00 PM - 11:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Weekend and Holiday support may be required.
