Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, hybrid Physical Therapist Assistant role based in the Columbia, South Carolina Metropolitan Area, with a mix of in-person visits and some work-from-home tasks such as documentation and coordination. The Physical Therapist Assistant will support licensed Physical Therapists in delivering pediatric therapy services in home, clinic, and community environments. Daily responsibilities include implementing treatment plans, assisting with therapeutic exercises and functional activities, monitoring progress, and documenting patient care in accordance with clinical and regulatory standards.
The role involves communicating with caregivers and interdisciplinary team members, promoting safe and effective carryover of therapeutic strategies, and helping create an engaging, child-centered environment. The Physical Therapist Assistant will also contribute to maintaining quality standards, adhering to safety protocols, and participating in team meetings and ongoing training.
- Demonstrated skills in Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation, with experience or strong interest in pediatric populations.
- Ability to deliver Quality Patient Care and Patient Care that is compassionate, evidence-based, and tailored to individual needs.
- Knowledge of Orthopedics as it relates to pediatric movement, posture, and functional mobility.
- Active Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state of South Carolina (or eligibility to obtain), and graduation from an accredited PTA program.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with children, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Comfort working in home, clinic, and community settings, with reliable transportation for travel within Richland and Lexington Counties.
- Ability to manage time effectively, complete documentation accurately, and use electronic health record systems.
- CPR/BLS certification and familiarity with pediatric safety and infection control guidelines.
