Role Description The Associate Therapist will provide outpatient psychotherapy and supportive counseling to adult clients, with a primary focus on anxiety and mood disorders. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting intake assessments, developing and implementing treatment plans, maintaining accurate clinical documentation, and coordinating care with the supervising psychiatrist and other team members as needed. The therapist will deliver individual sessions, monitor client progress, and adjust interventions based on clinical needs and best practices.
This is a part-time, hybrid role based in Los Angeles, CA, with a mix of in-office appointments on the westside and some remote sessions or administrative work from home.
Qualifications
- Clinical expertise in adult psychotherapy and treatment of ADHD, depression, and anxiety, with the ability to apply evidence-based approaches.
- Strong skills in intake evaluation, diagnostic formulation, and treatment planning in an outpatient mental health setting.
- Ability to maintain thorough, timely, and compliant clinical notes and documentation, including familiarity with electronic health records.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills to build therapeutic rapport with a diverse adult clientele.
- Master’s or doctoral degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or related field; active California licensure (e.g., LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, Psychologist) or registered associate under supervision.
- Comfort working in a hybrid model, including in-person services on the westside of Los Angeles and remote work when appropriate.
- Commitment to ethical practice, cultural humility, and maintaining client confidentiality in accordance with legal and professional standards.
- Prior experience in a psychiatric or multidisciplinary setting is preferred; interest in ADHD and mood disorders is highly beneficial.
- Experience providing psychotherapy to adults in outpatient or similar clinical settings
- Expertise in evidence-based practices such as CBT, ACT, or DBT
- Clinical experience or training in trauma informed modalities such as IFS, EMDR, or Sensorimotor Psychotherapy
Focus of work:
- Predominantly providing individual psychotherapy with adults
- Working with patients have complex trauma histories, and treatment-resistant depression
