Role Overview:
The Behavioral Health Program Manager leads a team of licensed and unlicensed staff providing behavioral health and emotional well-being support.
Responsibilities include care and case management, utilization review, risk assessment, de-escalation, intervention, authorizations, and ensuring appropriate levels of care for members.
They monitor team performance, develop workflows, support technology needs, and mentor staff to promote excellence and professionalism.
Key Duties:- Manage and supervise clinical staff to deliver quality decision-making and documentation
- Support authorization and utilization management for inpatient and outpatient care
- Analyze data and prepare reports to coach team performance
- Collaborate with training and quality teams for process improvement
- Identify trends and implement interventions in a positive environment
- Ensure timely and appropriate services in accordance with clinical guidelines
- Support team operations and provide clinical support as needed
Licensed mental health clinician with a master's degree or RN with 2+ years behavioral health experience, 5+ years of post-licensure experience, and 5+ years of leadership. Proficiency with computer applications and strong communication skills are essential. Must reside in California and be able to work weekdays with on-call support.
Preferred Attributes:7+ years supervisory experience and child/family behavioral health expertise. Soft skills include cultural competence, problem-solving, flexibility, and commitment to organizational mission.
