Position: Remote Staff Pharmacist – Drug Utilization Review (DUR)

3 months AZ (most preferred), TX, Indiana, New Hampshire, Florida, NY state (least preferred)

Day shifts 3 am - 1 pm Pacific

Swing shift 1 pm - 11 pm Pacific

We are seeking a Staff Pharmacist to join our team and help deliver a safe, efficient, and customer-focused pharmacy experience.

Core Responsibilities
  • Maintain comprehensive customer profiles, including medical history, clinical and laboratory data, and current and past medications, including over-the-counter medications and home remedies.
  • Review physician medication orders for:
  • Appropriate drug and dosage
  • Potential drug interactions
  • Route of administration
  • Clinical appropriateness
  • Communicate with prescribers and recommend therapy changes when appropriate.
  • Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot pharmacy automation and fulfillment systems to ensure accurate, efficient, and timely prescription processing.
  • Collaborate with pharmacy technicians and engineering teams to troubleshoot automation issues, optimize workflows, and maintain quality and safety standards.
  • Accurately dispense controlled substances in accordance with DEA regulations and applicable state laws

  • Maintain accurate and auditable records of controlled substance transactions, including inventory management, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Provide clinical support by:
  • Answering medication-related clinical questions.
  • Providing guidance to patients and healthcare team members.
  • Collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
  • Documenting healthcare team communications.
  • Investigating and resolving medication errors.
  • Implement and follow pharmacy policies and procedures in accordance with federal and state regulations.
  • Maintain required regulatory and compliance documentation.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance pharmacy operations, quality, safety, and customer experience.
  • Support pharmacy operations across departments as needed.
  • Perform physical/warehouse-related duties as required, including the ability to lift at least 20 pounds
    .
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BS Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree.
  • Active and unrestricted Pharmacist license in the state of employment; additional state licenses may be required.
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications and pharmacy management systems.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced pharmacy environment while maintaining accuracy and quality.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of federal and state pharmacy laws and regulations.
  • Experience working with pharmacy automation, dispensing, or fulfillment systems.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of calls and customer interactions while maintaining a high level of service and professionalism.
  • Strong problem-solving and clinical decision-making skills.
  • Experience working collaboratively with pharmacy technicians, healthcare providers, and cross-functional teams.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to perform pharmacy and warehouse-related activities as required.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and move items weighing 20 pounds or more as required.
