POSITION SUMMARYThe Early Childhood Clinician provides intensive, home-based integrated prevention and intervention for children birth to 5 years and their families. This will include comprehensive assessment of child and family strengths and needs, development of a family-driven plan, care coordination to connect with community services, and psychotherapeutic, parent-child intervention.
Bilingual in Spanish and English required!Bilingual Stipend $4,576 annually $3,000 Sign-on bonus available! $1,500 at start and $1,500 awarded at one year of service.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, Social Work or related license eligible field or a doctoral degree in Psychology is required. 3 years of experience working in a therapeutic capacity with young children, including ages birth to five, and their families is preferred.

LCSW, LMSW, LMFT, LMFTA, LPC, LPCA or licensed or license eligible psychologist required.
Current program needs require the ability to fluently communicate in English and Spanish.
LOCATIONBased out of 1 Hope Street, but services DCF Region 6 (New Britain/Meriden)
SCHEDULEFull-time position requiring flexibility to meet the needs of children and families served. Schedule may include working until 7:00 p.m. up to two evenings per week.

Participates in a rotating on-call schedule shared among designated clinical team members to provide after-hours support for clients and families.
Provides intensive, home-based integrated prevention and intervention with children and their families using trauma informed, relationally based, parent-child psychotherapy and other modalities in accordance with project replication standards.
Maintains knowledge of early childhood development and disability; emotional/behavioral health; parent-child relationships and attachment theory; effects of environmental risks on early childhood brain development; and family dynamics. Knowledge and experience working with adults with mental health and cognitive challenges.
Conducts program specific screening and evaluation, and formulate diagnosis in accordance with the Diagnostic Statistical Manual (DSM). Develops and documents clear, clinical formulations and treatment plans that are individualized and measurable, and developed in collaboration with the client/family, and others as relevant.
Demonstrates knowledge of psychopathology and other behavioral health concerns and primary modalities of psychotherapeutic intervention.
