Position Summary
Rae of Hope, LLC is seeking a qualified Section 28 Supervisor to oversee the delivery of Rehabilitative and Community Support Services (RCS) for children and adolescents with behavioral health needs.
The Section 28 Supervisor is responsible for providing clinical oversight and supervision to Behavioral Health Professionals (BHPs), ensuring services are delivered in accordance with Maine Care Section 28 requirements, and that all care is medically necessary, goal-directed, and aligned with each client’s treatment plan.
This role plays a critical part in maintaining service quality, supporting staff development, and ensuring compliance with all documentation, supervision, and billing standards.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical supervision to BHP staff in accordance with Maine Care Section 28 supervision requirements, including:
- Individual and/or group supervision
- Ongoing guidance related to treatment implementation and client care
- Oversee and support implementation of treatment plans, ensuring services are:
- Goal-oriented
- Strengths-based
- Aligned with medical necessity
- Review and approve documentation to ensure compliance with:
- Maine Care Section 28 requirements
- Agency standards and timelines
- Monitor service delivery and staff performance to ensure quality and consistency of care
- Participate in development and review of treatment plans in collaboration with licensed clinicians
- Provide consultation to BHPs regarding behavioral interventions, skill-building strategies, and client engagement
- Identify clinical concerns, risk factors, or need for higher levels of care and communicate appropriately
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case reviews, and care coordination efforts
- Ensure appropriate onboarding, training, and ongoing development of BHP staff
- Support adherence to HIPAA, mandated reporting, and agency policies and procedures
- Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement (QA/QI) activities
Required:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field (e.g., Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Human Services)
- Meets qualifications to serve as a Section 28 Supervisor under Maine Care guidelines
- Minimum of 2–3 years experience working with children or adolescents with behavioral health needs
- Supervisory or leadership experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Preferred:
- Licensure (e.g., LCSW, LCPC, LMSW-CC, or equivalent)
- Experience supervising BHPs or similar direct care staff
- Strong understanding of behavioral interventions and skill-building models
- Familiarity with Maine Care documentation and compliance standards
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills
- Ability to provide clear guidance, feedback, and clinical direction
- Effective communication and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams
- Strong attention to detail and documentation compliance
- Ability to manage multiple staff and client needs simultaneously
- Trauma-informed, strengths-based, and client-centered approach
This position includes a combination of remote work, office-based work, and community-based oversight. Travel within the service area is required to support staff and client needs.
