OverviewSentara Health is looking to hire a Patient Service Coordinator. Hours of operations are M-F 8:00am to 5:00pm. Must be flexible to work every other weekend.
Responsibilities- A Patient Services Coordinator is responsible for intake of authorization requests via fax, phone, email and provider portal.
- Building authorization shells in JIVA, routing authorizations for nurse review.
- Coordinates activities for specific practices, including insurance verification/obtaining pre-certification.
- Responsible for answering provider calls and assisting with questions related to authorization process.
- Outreach to providers to request clinical information needed for medical necessity review.
- Assist in scheduling peer-to-peer calls, as requested.
