Tobacco Cessation Health Coach
National Jewish Health is seeking a part-time Tobacco Cessation Health Coach to provide assessment, education, and behavioral support to individuals working to quit tobacco. This role engages participants through phone and digital coaching, using motivational interviewing techniques to guide individuals in setting goals, making quit attempts, and maintaining long-term abstinence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide coaching and education using motivational interviewing techniques to support tobacco cessation
- Conduct intake assessments, verify eligibility, and document participant information in compliance with HIPAA and program guidelines
- Build rapport with participants, assess readiness to change, and support behavior change through ongoing engagement
- Participate in continuous training and apply feedback to maintain quality standards and evidence-based practices
- Meet call center metrics and individual performance expectations

Position Summary The Tobacco Cessation Health Coach provides assessment, counseling, education and behavioral intervention to tobacco users. This position directly assists tobacco users by using motivational interviewing techniques in deciding whether to make a quit attempt, obtaining and using cessation medicine and staying abstinent from tobacco. Counseling is conducted over the phone and/or through the internet with participants.
