The Patient Financial Representative is responsible for the administration and maintenance of patient accounts, including billing, collections, customer service, payment posting, and cash application activities. This role works to ensure accurate account resolution, timely reimbursement, and excellent customer service while complying with all organizational policies and industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Manage patient accounts and perform billing and collection activities.
- Post and reconcile payments and cash applications.
- Document account activity and maintain accurate account records.
- Research, resolve, and respond to patient inquiries regarding balances, payments, and insurance coverage.
- Review and follow up on Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and payer responses.
- Implement billing guideline changes and identify payer-specific trends.
- Maintain operational reports, inventories, and equipment maintenance tracking.
- Adhere to established policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and operational standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Required:
Minimum one (1) year of customer service experience. - Preferred:
Accounts Receivable and Medicare Experience but not required.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Basic computer proficiency and data entry skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Professionalism, courtesy, and respect in all interactions.
