Our Youth Care Professional is responsible for providing reliable and timely support, reinforcing therapeutic programming, and guiding clients in daily living activities using trauma-informed practices. The role maintains a safe environment and ensures clients’ needs are met.

• Engage with clients safely, providing mentorship and supervision of daily activities and behaviors.
• Coach clients to achieve personal hygiene, grooming, and upkeep of living areas, including laundry.
• Ensure clients adhere to and engage in daily schedules, including school, therapy, group sessions, external appointments, and family visits.
• Serve as a mentor and role model by demonstrating compassion, understanding, and respectful communication.
• Assist in creating daily schedules, activities, treatment plans, and safety protocols.
• Demonstrate acceptance and inclusivity regarding individual differences in gender, race, age, culture, ethnicity, class, religion, disability, and gender identity.
• Advocate for clients’ needs.
• Engage in therapeutic interventions while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
• Abide by the Empowering Restorative Engagement (ERE) Model, directing staff in action and safety planning.
• Comply with Nexus privacy and confidentiality policies.
• Complete all client‑related documentation accurately (incidents, progress notes, etc.).

• Minimum 21 years of age
• High school diploma or GED required
• Valid driver’s license (must meet state and Nexus driving requirements)
• Previous YCP experience not required
• YCP I: 1+ year experience in treatment, probation, case management, in‑home work, therapy, or counseling; or meet Nexus proficiency requirements
• YCP II: 1+ year experience in a residential setting or meet Nexus proficiency requirements
• YCP III: 1.5 years (18 months) experience in a residential setting or meet Nexus proficiency requirements
