Pharmacy Technician II
Pharmacy Technician II supports pharmacy operations through accurate prescription data entry and adherence to pharmacy regulations and procedures. This position is heavily focused on prescription entry and requires a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Responsibilities include collecting, reviewing, and entering prescription information while ensuring compliance with pharmacy policies, state regulations, and confidentiality requirements. The role supports pharmacy workflow by processing prescription information efficiently and maintaining quality standards.
Candidates must be comfortable performing repetitive data entry tasks throughout the workday. The Pharmacy Technician II works closely with pharmacists and pharmacy staff to ensure prescription accuracy and timely processing. Additional responsibilities may include order entry support, inventory documentation, record maintenance, and pharmacy operational support. Successful candidates demonstrate strong keyboarding skills, accuracy, organization, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
This position begins onsite and may transition to remote work after approximately 4-6 weeks based on performance and successful completion of training requirements. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining productivity and quality standards in a pharmacy environment.
Job Duties
- Enter prescription information accurately into pharmacy systems
- Review prescription information for completeness and accuracy
- Maintain compliance with pharmacy regulations and legal requirements
- Support prescription processing activities
- Ensure patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
- Manage prescription queues and prioritize work effectively
- Communicate with pharmacy personnel regarding prescription processing needs
- Complete order entry and refill activities under pharmacist supervision
- Maintain documentation and pharmacy records
- Assist with inventory documentation and storage activities
- Support pharmacy operational workflows
- Follow established quality assurance procedures
