WorkEnvironment
This position allows for remote work flexibility, providing a work-life balance while still engaging deeply with clients. Our regular business operation hours are from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM, allowing you time for personal commitments. Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate clients' specific symptoms related to eating disorders, as well as any co-occurring mental health conditions they may have.
- Create tailored treatment plans based on thorough assessments, collaborating closely with clients to establish achievable, personalized goals for their recovery journey.
- Utilize evidence-based therapeutic approaches including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) in client sessions.
- Facilitate individual therapy sessions to help clients challenge and reshape distorted beliefs related to their body image, food consumption, and self-worth.
- Assist clients in discovering and implementing healthy coping mechanisms, acquiring emotional regulation skills, and resisting potentially harmful eating behaviors.
- Engage with the treatment team to coordinate care, ensuring a seamless integration of services that address the holistic needs of each client.
- Provide psychoeducation to both clients and their loved ones to cultivate a supportive recovery environment and promote understanding of eating disorders.
- Maintain meticulous and timely documentation of client progress, treatment plans, and session notes, adhering to recognized ethical and legal standards.
- Participate actively in team meetings, case reviews, and professional development opportunities to enhance therapeutic skills and knowledge specific to eating disorders.
Our practice serves individuals who are seeking recovery from a range of eating disorders, including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge eating disorder. Each client we work with presents a unique set of challenges and experiences, and as a member of our team, you will play a vital role in helping them navigate through these hurdles with empathy and expertise. Your contributions will significantly enhance their journey towards improved mental health, self-acceptance, and a healthier relationship with food and body image.
Qualifications- A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LCPC, or LCMFT in the state of Kansas.
- Proficiency in therapeutic modalities specifically geared towards treating eating disorders.
- A strong foundational knowledge of the complexities surrounding eating disorders and the interconnected mental health conditions that may arise.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build trust and rapport with clients.
- At least two years of experience in a mental health counseling role, preferably with a focus on eating disorders.
- Familiarity with modern therapeutic techniques and their application in different patient scenarios.
