Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments to evaluate patients' dietary habits, health history, and nutritional needs.
- Develop individualized care plans tailored to each patient's specific conditions, including diabetes and other metabolic disorders.
- Provide personalized nutrition counseling and education, focusing on healthy eating habits and the management of diabetes.
- Monitor patients' progress, adjusting nutrition care plans as necessary and collaborating effectively with an integrated healthcare team.
- Conduct nutrition-focused physical examinations and interpret laboratory results to assess nutritional status.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to share insights and formulate cohesive treatment strategies.
- Keep detailed records of patient interactions and treatment plans, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Stay current with nutrition research, guidelines, and advances in dietary management to enhance patient care.
This role primarily focuses on patients dealing with diabetes and related metabolic conditions, providing essential support in lifestyle modifications to enhance managing their health. You will work with a diverse set of clients, ranging from those newly diagnosed to individuals with a long history of diabetes, ensuring tailored interventions that meet their unique lifestyles and challenges.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Certification as a Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
- Active state licensure to practice as a Dietitian/Nutritionist in Florida, or eligibility to obtain it.
- Solid understanding of nutrition science, dietary guidelines, and proven methods in medical nutrition therapy.
- Exemplary communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively present information to patients and families.
- Prior experience working with diabetes patients or in outpatient nutrition settings.
- Knowledge of current technological tools to assess dietary habits and track patient progress.
- Experience collaborating with a multidisciplinary team and excellent problem-solving abilities.
