The PRN/Part-Time Therapeutic Visit Supervisor is responsible for providing clinically informed supervision of family time visits between children in out-of-home care and their families. This role promotes the emotional and physical safety of the child while supporting healthy parent-child interactions in alignment with established case plans, treatment goals, court orders, and agency guidelines.

The Therapeutic Visit Supervisor uses advanced clinical judgment, trauma-informed practice, and therapeutic coaching to observe family dynamics, support regulation and attachment, model effective parenting strategies, redirect unsafe or inappropriate behavior, and help caregivers practice skills that strengthen the parent-child relationship.

The position provides in-person supervision, therapeutic support, objective documentation, and timely communication of clinically relevant observations to the appropriate treatment or case team. Travel between office, community, and home-based visit locations may be required. PRN/part-time staff are scheduled based on agency need and staff availability.

• Supervise scheduled therapeutic family time visits while maintaining child safety, emotional well-being, and a calm, child-centered environment.
• Provide real-time therapeutic coaching, modeling, redirection, and psychoeducation to parents or caregivers based on the child's developmental, behavioral, and emotional needs.
• Apply trauma-informed, strengths-based, attachment-focused, and developmentally appropriate interventions during visits.
• Observe and assess parent-child interactions, family dynamics, protective capacities, parenting skills, emotional regulation, and responses to coaching.
• Support caregivers in practicing treatment-plan goals, visitation expectations, boundaries, routines, co-regulation, communication, and safe parenting strategies.
• Intervene when interactions become unsafe, dysregulated, developmentally inappropriate, or inconsistent with case-plan expectations.
• Document each visit objectively, factually, clinically, and within required time frames, including interventions used, caregiver response, child response, progress toward identified goals, and safety concerns.
• Maintain professional boundaries, neutrality, confidentiality, and compliance with agency, legal, licensing, and documentation requirements.
• Provide services in office, community, and family-home settings and maintain availability for PRN scheduling, including occasional evenings or weekends.

• Required:
  
  Master's degree from an accredited institution in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, Human Services, or a closely related behavioral health field.
• Preferred:
  Current or eligible professional licensure/registration in the applicable behavioral health discipline, when relevant to the services provided.

• Advanced ability to remain neutral, professional, clinically grounded, and child-centered during emotionally charged family interactions.
• Strong knowledge of trauma, attachment, child development, family systems, emotional regulation, and evidence-informed parenting practices.
• Ability to use therapeutic communication, motivational strategies, coaching, modeling, and de-escalation techniques.
• Strong observational, clinical documentation, and written communication skills.
• Ability to distinguish objective behavioral observations from clinical impressions and to communicate each appropriately.
• Cultural responsiveness, empathy, and respect when working with diverse children and families.
• Sound clinical judgment regarding safety, boundaries, mandated reporting, and escalation of concerns.
• Strong interpersonal communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently in community settings while following supervision and agency protocols.
• Comfort using agency systems for documentation and communication.
