Contracted Nurse Practitioner (PRN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a Texas-licensed Nurse Practitioner to join our men's health clinic on a contracted, PRN basis. Our practice focuses on concierge-style care for testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), peptide therapy, medical weight loss, and general men's health optimization for a self-pay patient panel. This is a flexible, part-time contract position ideal for an NP seeking a predictable weekly commitment outside of a primary role.

Schedule

& Structure

1–2 clinic days per week, with flexibility to select and adjust days based on mutual availability. New patient visits are typically conducted in person at our clinic location but can be completed via telemedicine according to the patients’ preference. Follow-up visits and short consults are conducted via telemedicine, allowing remote work for the majority of the contracted schedule. Patient scheduling and volume are coordinated in advance through our EHR/practice management system to align with your available clinic days.

Independent contractor (1099) role; you set your availability within the practice's scheduling needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive new patient evaluations, including history, focused exam, and lab review, to establish appropriateness for TRT, peptide therapy, or weight loss treatment.
  • Develop and manage individualized treatment plans, including dosing and monitoring for testosterone, peptides, and weight loss medications.
  • Conduct follow-up telemedicine visits to assess treatment response, review labs, and adjust therapy as clinically indicated.
  • Provide brief phone consults for existing patients requesting additional services or with treatment-related questions.
  • Order and interpret labs relevant to hormone optimization and men's health, including baseline and interval monitoring panels.
  • Document all encounters thoroughly and promptly in the practice EHR (Opti Mantra).
  • Prescribe medications, including compounded preparations, in accordance with practice protocols and applicable pharmacy requirements.
  • Identify and appropriately refer or elevate findings outside the scope of the practice (e.g., cardiac, urologic, or other specialist concerns).
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable Texas Board of Nursing regulations and the practice's physician‑led collaborative practice agreement.
Qualifications
  • Active, unrestricted Texas APRN license in good standing (FNP, or comparable certification).
  • Current national board certification (e.g., ANCC or AANP).
  • Active DEA registration (or willingness to obtain, if prescribing controlled substances is anticipated).
  • Prior experience with hormone replacement therapy, men's health, peptide therapy, or medical weight loss strongly preferred but not required.
  • Comfort with a telemedicine‑based follow‑up care model.
  • Familiarity with Opti Mantra or similar EHR/practice management platforms preferred, not required.
  • Strong independent clinical judgment with reliable, timely documentation habits.
  • Ability to work under a collaborative practice agreement with the supervising physician per Texas requirements.
Compensation

Compensation is paid per visit/encounter, as follows:

Visit Type/Rate
  • New patient visit (in-clinic): $100 per visit
  • Follow-up visit (telemedicine): $50 per visit
  • Short phone consult — additional services for an existing patient: $25 per consult

Typical monthly pay can be expected to be between $2,000 - $4,000 per month and varies based on the number of patient's seen.

Payment is issued on a monthly schedule based on completed and documented encounters. As an independent contractor, you are responsible for your own taxes; a 1099 will be issued annually.

About the Practice

Our clinic is a self‑pay men's health practice serving a growing patient panel across a single Texas location, with near‑term plans for additional locations. We maintain a lean, efficient operational model supported by dedicated medical assistants, streamlined EHR workflows, and established relationships with compounding pharmacies and Lab Corp for labs. We are building a team of contracted providers to support flexible, high‑quality patient care as the practice scales.
