As part of a community health clinic, you’ll connect with patients through telehealth platforms, creating personalized treatment experiences that consider their unique situations. Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, including psychosocial evaluations and diagnostic interviews, to understand each patient's history and current challenges.
- Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients, which account for their specific needs and cultural backgrounds.
- Utilize effective therapeutic techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), to deliver therapy in various formats such as individual, family, couples, and group settings.
- Provide immediate crisis intervention and support for patients in acute distress by utilizing clinical judgement and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
- Maintain precise clinical documentation, including treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries, in compliance with clinic standards.
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, promoting awareness and management skills necessary for ongoing recovery.
- Work alongside a diverse team of healthcare professionals—such as psychiatrists, psychologists, and case managers to coordinate holistic care for patients.
- Regularly assess treatment outcomes through standardized tools, adjusting therapeutic approaches based on assessment findings.
- Stay updated with current research, best practices, and emerging trends in mental health, integrating this knowledge into your daily clinical practice.
- Adhere strictly to ethical standards and maintain confidential patient information as dictated by professional guidelines.
In your role, you will work with a diverse patient population including adults, families, and children who are experiencing a wide range of mental health issues. Many have faced trauma or significant life challenges requiring empathetic and knowledgeable support. By providing culturally sensitive care, you will play a vital role in helping these individuals navigate their healing journey.
Qualifications- A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
- Active licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of Texas.
- Proven ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to effectively connect with a culturally diverse client base.
While the minimum requirement is two years of relevant experience, candidates with experience in community health settings, crisis intervention, and group therapy facilitation may find their backgrounds particularly beneficial in fulfilling this role.
