Position Overview

Medina Behavioral Health Center is seeking compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Counselors to join our dynamic team. In this full-time position, you will play an essential role in providing high-quality mental health services to individuals seeking support for a variety of conditions. Located in the vibrant community of El Paso, Texas, Medina Behavioral Health Center is a community health clinic committed to promoting mental wellness. Our outpatient psychiatric office is focused on providing accessible mental health services that embrace a holistic approach to care. The role operates in a remote work setting, offering flexibility while maintaining the high standards required for effective patient care. You will engage in virtual consultations and therapy sessions with patients. Our clinic values work-life balance and provides a structured Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM schedule, though some flexibility may be necessary to accommodate patient availability and needs.

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments to identify individual patient needs and develop personalized treatment plans that reflect best practices in mental health care.
• Utilize various therapeutic modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and solution-focused therapy to deliver effective interventions for individuals, couples, and families.
• Facilitate psycho educational and support groups, addressing common issues such as anxiety management, coping strategies, and providing a supportive community for participants.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists and psychologists, to provide comprehensive and coordinated care that addresses all aspects of mental health.
• Offer immediate crisis intervention support to patients during mental health emergencies, employing de-escalation techniques and providing necessary resources.
• Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions and explore treatment options, fostering an understanding of community resources that may enhance recovery.
• Maintain meticulous and confidential records in compliance with HIPAA and ethical standards, ensuring that patient information is safeguarded while allowing for efficient care planning.
• Participate actively in team meetings, case consultations, and professional development opportunities, contributing to a culture of learning and growth within the practice.
• Stay informed about the latest research and advancements in mental health therapies, integrating new knowledge into practice to continuously improve the care provided.

• A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology is required; relevant advanced degrees are preferred.
• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of Texas.
• Demonstrated knowledge of mental health disorders and familiarity with evidence-based treatment approaches.
• Proven track record in conducting comprehensive assessments and formulating effective treatment plans tailored to patients.
• Experience providing individualized and group therapy, with a commitment to serving a diverse clientele.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, combined with strong interpersonal abilities that facilitate rapport building.
• Adherence to professional ethics, confidentiality, and boundaries.
