ROLEOVERVIEW
The Behavioral Health Medical Scheduler is responsible for taking inbound calls and making outbound calls to potential clients placed on a Clinic’s worklist/waitlist to gather additional critical information and start the insurance verification process. They offer practical assistance to potential clients, such as providing additional information to them, gathering insurance information and verifying insurance with various health plans. They must be able to work independently, but also function as a team member, providing high quality services to our clients.

Between the hours of operation of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm PST Monday - Friday

Hybrid/remote.

Compensation: $19 - 20/hour
RESPONSIBILITIESMaintaining confidentiality of records aligning with HIPAA requirements Assess for high risk/high acuity needs and collaborates a warm hand-off to a Behavioral Health Professional Maintain client-related paperwork (billing, BH screeners, progress notes, contact notes, and other required forms) Exceptional Customer Service Answering and routing calls as appropriate Daily outbound calls to potential clients Engage with multiple payors and their interfaces Additional responsibilities as appropriate
SKILLS & EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma or equivalent required;
Bachelor's degree preferred. 3-years of experience with Medical Scheduling highly preferred Strong computer proficiency with knowledge of Microsoft Office, Internet, and Email. Prior experience working with Electronic Health Record systems (EHRs), preferred. Clear understanding of insurance-related terminology. Fluency in English is required; fluency in Spanish preferred. Quiet, distraction free, dedicated HIPAA compliant workspace in your remote office with high-speed hard-wired internet access.
Must be able to multi-task and prioritize work in a fast-paced work environment. Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills Knowledge of integrated healthcare delivery models (preferred)
