Depth-Oriented Clinicians: A Practice Home Built for Long-Term Work

At PPS, we offer more than a job. We offer a professional home for clinicians who want to practice with depth, autonomy, and integrity. We are a woman-owned, clinician-led private practice supporting experienced mental health professionals in doing the work they were trained to do: long-term, meaningful psychotherapy that creates lasting change.

We are looking for licensed clinicians ready to move past quick-fix models and join a team that values clinical excellence, relational depth, and real collaboration.

Our mission:

We promote mental wellness through high-quality therapy, assessment, and medication management, with a special emphasis on depth-oriented approaches. Our diverse, interdisciplinary team creates an environment where both clients and clinicians can thrive.

Clinical excellence and a highly trained team
  • Our clinicians bring advanced training in depth-oriented and evidence-based modalities, including psychodynamic approaches, EMDR, exposure therapy, and couples work.
  • We are an interdisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and counselors, with many clinicians holding decades of post-licensure experience and specialty certifications.
  • We hold a high standard for the quality of care we deliver: thorough assessment, thoughtful treatment planning, and clinical decisions made by clinicians.
Depth-oriented, relational work
  • We work beyond symptoms to the underlying patterns and dynamics driving them.
  • Our clinicians are trained and supported in long-term psychotherapy, with room for change to unfold at its own pace.
  • We value therapeutic presence, clinical patience, and the skill to stay with complex phases of the work.
Flexibility in how and where you work
  • Fully remote, hybrid, or in-office. Work from anywhere while maintaining a full caseload, or build a hybrid schedule out of our St. Joseph, MI office or our soon-to-open Grand Rapids, MI office.
  • Set your own schedule and build a rhythm that fits your life.
  • HIPAA-compliant tools, Zoom phone and text, and encrypted email support seamless virtual care.
A team you can trust
  • Weekly Zoom meetings for connection, consultation, and shared learning.
  • Experienced colleagues across disciplines who are genuinely available when you want a second perspective.
  • A culture of mutual respect, collaboration, and professional growth.
Full administrative support
  • Referrals and marketing
  • Insurance credentialing and billing
  • EHR system and documentation tools
  • Risk management and clinical consultation
  • General administrative infrastructure
Opportunities to grow beyond your caseload
  • Supervision and teaching roles in our Psychotherapy Training Program, for clinicians who want to develop the next generation.
  • Program development, including building out new clinical offerings from the ground up.
  • Adding new service lines in your area of specialty.
  • Wellness services and other emerging areas of the practice.
  • Involvement in administrative and leadership work such as marketing, recruiting, and practice growth.
  • A path to move from 1099 to a W-2 position over time, with greater income stability.
  • Because we are clinician-led, the people who shape the direction of the practice are the people doing the clinical work.
Who We're Looking For
  • Independently licensed in Michigan
  • 5+ years of post-licensure experience preferred
  • Training in EMDR, couples therapy, or exposure therapy is a strong plus
  • Clinicians who are flexible, grounded, and committed to long-term client work
  • A commitment to clinical excellence and to continued growth as a practitioner
  • Strong interpersonal, documentation, and time management skills
Compensation & Structure
  • Remote, hybrid, or in-office, with optional access to our St. Joseph, MI office, our soon-to-open Grand Rapids, MI office, and our Chicago, IL office
  • Compensation is productivity-based. Typical annual earnings run $75K to $85K for caseloads of 22 to 25, and $85K to $95K for caseloads of 26 to 29
  • Up to $120K per year for high-volume clinicians (30+ billable hours per week)
  • Additional income opportunities for clinical psychologists qualified to perform psychological and neuropsychological assessments
Why Clinician-Led Ownership Matters:

Every person making decisions at PPS carries a caseload. When we set expectations around documentation, scheduling, or how long a client stays in treatment, we are setting them for ourselves too. That produces different answers than a spreadsheet does.

We are not owned by private equity, and we have no…
