Occupational Therapists

Capernaum Pediatric Therapy seeks part-time and full-time Occupational Therapists to serve children in schools and community settings in St. Paul and the Twin Cities metro area. Mentorship is provided. Competitive pay, paid travel and mileage, and full-time benefits (for the full-time position) are offered. Must be licensed in Minnesota. We are looking for therapists who are flexible, organized, creative, strong communicators, and passionate about working with kids.

One year of experience is preferred but not required.

• Completed education in an accredited occupational therapy program
• Licensed by the MN Department of Health
• Prefer experience in a school setting (for school roles) and experience serving children in a variety of settings; feeding experience preferred (for clinic/community site settings/home-based)
• (School):
  Able to reliably commute between buildings/locations as needed. (Home-Based):
  Able to reliably commute between homes, up to 30 minutes of travel; mileage paid up to $200/month
• A passion for education and working with students to impact lives (school), and working with children and families (home-based)

• Support diverse learners through initial evaluations, diagnosis, and treatment.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to identify and provide diagnostic recommendations for students who require special education interventions within a time-sensitive period.
• Work closely with the Special Education Coordinator to identify proposed IEP goals and treatment plans for each student.
• Serve as the resident expert to school staff members regarding the benefits of occupational therapy and the implementation of strategies suggested for the student.
• Collect and analyze data related to school improvement, student outcomes, and accountability requirements.
• Support teachers and families in identifying ways to differentiate instruction to increase opportunities for student engagement.
• Knowledge of and adherence to HIPAA legislation and other patient privacy laws.
• Knowledgeable about play-based therapy (HB).

• Communicate effectively and maintain strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
• Have proficiency in computer software commonly used for documentation and report preparation.
• Commitment to supporting and empowering students with diverse backgrounds, including an understanding of at-risk children, gifted children, and children with disabilities
• Possess effective decision-making, managerial, communication, and organizational skills.
• Accountability and attention to detail are essential when handling and documenting important medical information.
