The Associate Actuary, General provides actuarial support across a broad range of actuarial and business needs for the IL Medicaid Market.
The Medicaid Associate Actuary will be responsible for components of capitation rate review, drafting rate advocacy communications, actual-to-expected business analytics, forecasting market-specific financial results, and ad hoc market support for the state of Illinois. The Associate Actuary will advise executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. They exercise independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and work under supervision of an FSA Actuary.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
ASA plus advanced degree, recent and relevant work experience, and/or other relevant professional designations
Strong technical and communication skills
3 or more years of technical experience
Knowledge of Medicaid regulations, programs, and state plan benefits
Experience with capitation rate development from either the state agency or payer perspective
Detailed understanding of healthcare claims
Experience developing Microsoft Power BI dashboards
This is a remote position.

Humana reserves the right to require associates to upgrade their internet service if necessary. Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.
Travel:
While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay RangeThe compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$106,900 - $147,000 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
