Clinical Supervisor | Senior Therapist; Remote – IL

Sohail Counseling & Care is looking for an LCSW to join our team as a Clinical Supervisor + Senior Therapist!

This is a new role at SCC, and I’ve been really intentional about building it in a way that actually makes sense for someone who is supervising other clinicians.

I don’t want supervision to be something you’re expected to squeeze in between 20+ clients a week. If you’re holding space for newer clinicians, answering questions, reviewing notes, talking through complicated cases, and helping people build their clinical judgment, that is real work. Your caseload should reflect that.

This is a W-2 position. Clinical work is compensated at a 60% split, and supervision is compensated separately at $500/month per supervisee.

A lot of this role is exactly what you’d expect: regular supervision, reviewing and signing notes, case consultation, risk assessment, ethics, treatment planning, and being available when something comes up.

But I’m really looking for someone who likes the human part of supervision, too.

Someone who doesn’t mind getting the “okay, weird question…” message. Someone who likes helping newer therapists figure out what they think instead of just telling them the “right” answer. Someone who can say, “Yep, you handled that well,” AND “Okay, let’s talk about what we could do differently next time.”

Basically, I want our clinicians to have someone they can learn from without feeling like they have to perform competence all the time.

You’ll need to:

• Be an LCSW licensed in Illinois
• Have at least 2+ years of experience working independently in private practice
• Have real experience working with couples
• Be comfortable with the clinical judgment + responsibility that comes with supervising newer therapists
• Care about cultural humility and anti-oppressive practice
• Be licensed in Michigan OR willing and eligible to become licensed there

If you need your Michigan license, SCC will pay for it.

Formal supervision experience is definitely a plus, but I’m also really interested in how you THINK about supervision and what kind of supervisor you want to be.

SCC is a relational, culturally responsive group practice serving adults, couples, and teens across Illinois + Michigan.

Our clinicians are thoughtful, collaborative, curious people. We talk to each other. We ask questions. We consult. We care a lot about doing good clinical work without pretending therapists are robots who never need help figuring something out.

We also work with a really diverse client population, so being able to think about culture, identity, family systems, relationships, power, and context as part of clinical work is important here.

I’m starting the search now because credentialing takes its sweet time.

Realistically, I’m anticipating an October–December 2026 start depending on credentialing and who we hire.
