At Mineral Community Hospital (MCH), we understand that our mission is to improve the health and quality of life of our community. MCH is a Level IV Trauma Receiving Facility. We provide inpatient, outpatient, 24-hour emergency room care, long-term care and physical therapy, as well as many other health care services you may not expect to find in a rural hospital and health center.
Job Summary:Mineral Community Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Billing Specialist to join our team! This role is essential in ensuring accurate and timely processing of medical claims, patient billing, and insurance reimbursements. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical billing procedures, insurance policies, and healthcare regulations.
Remote Work Possible. Base Pay: $20.50/hour. Rate increases with relevant experience and certifications.Key Responsibilities:
- Process and submit medical claims to insurance companies and government programs.
- Review and verify patient billing information for accuracy and completeness.
- Follow up on denied or unpaid claimsand work with insurance providers to resolve issues.
- Assist patients with billing inquiries
- Maintain patient account records, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and federal regulations.
- Work closely with healthcare providers, coding specialists, and insurance representatives to streamline billing processes.
- Stay up to date with insurance regulations, coding changes, and billing best practices.
- 2-3 years experience in medical billing, coding, or healthcare finance
- Knowledge of insurance claims processing, Medicare/Medicaid, and private payers
- Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and billing software
- Strong attention to detailand ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to problem-solve and follow up on outstanding claims
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality
