Medical Physicist – Helena​/Falls, MT

Northwest Medical Physics Center (NMPC) has an immediate opening for a Radiation Therapy Physicist at clinics in Helena and Great Falls, Montana. We seek a certified (DA , ABMP, or CCPM) or board-eligible (graduate of CAMPEP-approved residency) candidate to deliver clinical support across external beam and brachytherapy modalities.

We offer VISA assistance to eligible applicants.

The physicist would be on-site in Helena 2 days per week and Great Falls 1 day per month, with remote work to support a full-time position.

The driving time between the two centers is 1.5 hours via the interstate.

It is anticipated the Great Falls position will increase to 1 on-site day per week after a permanent Radiation Oncologist is hired following a recent retirement.

The Helena clinic operates state-of-the-art radiation therapy systems including a True Beam, PET-CTSim, Eclipse, ARIA, and Identify supporting 3D, VMAT, SBRT, SRS treatments. Portal Dosimetry is used for patient-specific QA.Variseed is used for the prostate-seed brachytherapy program (4-12 cases per year).The Great Falls clinic operates a Siemens True Beam (installed in 2022), GE Wide Bore CTSim (installed 2021), Eclipse, ARIA, and Identify supporting 3D, VMAT, and SBRT, with rare SRS treatment.

Portal Dosimetry is used for patient-specific QA.

Vacation backup coverage is provided, along with standard NMPC professional benefits including national meeting attendance and professional membership dues.

External support, especially of board-eligible physicists, will be provided via routine video meetings with an NMPC Regional Manager, initial on-site support for Monthly QA, and on-site certified physicist support for annual QA.As an NMPC physicist, you are able to participate in commissioning linacs and other technical projects across multiple centers, gaining valuable experience and earning a monetary bonus while collaborating with our experienced physics team.
