In this role, you will be a key component in driving customer satisfaction and will have a responsibility to make every interaction informative, productive, and positive for our members and providers. You'll have the opportunity to conduct live outreach, educate members about program benefits and available services, and help support the coordination and management of member needs.

Schedule:

Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Rotating Saturday coverage is required

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Conduct outreach to newly enrolled members to complete the initial health screening
  • Identify medical, behavioral, functional, and social needs
  • Document screening results and outreach in required systems
  • Explain benefits, services, and how to access care
  • Connect members to providers, programs, and community resources
  • Use clear, respectful communication; arrange interpreters as needed
  • Work with care managers, providers, and community partners
  • Warm transfer members to care teams when needed
  • Knowledge and continued learning of community cultures and values
  • Follow HIPAA and all privacy requirements

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma /GED
  • 2+ years of experience working with individuals enrolled in Medicaid programs
  • 1+ years of experience conducting telephonic interactions with members, patients, or customers
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, including document creation, editing, and email/calendar management
  • Access to a designated quiet workspace in your home (separated from non-workspace areas) with the ability to secure Protected Health Information (PHI)
  • Reside in the state of Virginia
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous remote (work-from-home) experience, preferably in a phone-based role
  • Experience in the healthcare or health insurance industry, with basic knowledge of medical or behavioral health terminology
  • Experience working in a hospital, physician's office or medical clinic setting
  • Experience in a call center or similar phone-based environment, combined with strong administrative skills, including multitasking between member conversations and accurate real-time documentation in systems.
  • Bilingual in Spanish, Farsi, or Vietnamese

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on professional telephone interaction
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
