Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough trauma-informed mental health assessments that evaluate patients' trauma history, mental health status, and identify appropriate therapeutic interventions.
  • Develop and execute individualized treatment plans tailored to each client's unique experience and recovery goals, emphasizing trauma resilience.
  • Employ evidence-based therapeutic methodologies, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to facilitate effective healing.
  • Facilitate individual therapy and group sessions focused on trauma recovery, providing patients with strategies to process their experiences, foster coping skills, and promote personal growth.
  • Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated, holistic care for each patient.
  • Provide immediate crisis intervention and support during trauma-related emergencies, ensuring the safety and well-being of patients.
  • Educate patients and their families about the effects of trauma, coping methods, and community resources available for ongoing support.
  • Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation in line with legal and ethical standards to safeguard patient information.
  • Engage in regular team meetings, case consultations, and professional development sessions dedicated to advancing trauma-informed care practices within the clinic.
  • Stay current with developments in trauma therapy through ongoing training and research initiatives.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our patient population primarily consists of individuals grappling with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. We focus on providing care that is sensitive to the nuances of trauma experiences, ensuring that our clients feel heard, respected, and validated throughout their healing journey.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in New York State.
  • A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience in a clinical setting is preferred, with demonstrable engagement in trauma-focused therapeutic practices.
Preferred Experience
  • A strong background in trauma-related disorders and experience with trauma-informed therapeutic modalities.
