Position Overview
Gynecology Oncology - Medical Assistant or Clinical Team Assistant at Maine Health, Scarborough, ME. Full‑time position (Monday‑Friday) with the flexibility for 10‑hour shifts once fully trained and the possibility of one day remote work a week after training.
Sign‑on Bonuses- 0–1 year of experience eligible for $4,000 (full time) – MA
- 1+ year of experience eligible for $5,000 (full time) – MA
- Up to $2,500 sign‑on bonus for Clinical Team Assistants
- Bonus prorated for part‑time hires; per‑diem hires are ineligible.
- Current Maine Health employees and former employees who separated within 6 months are ineligible.
- Rooming patients and managing the patient flow through the clinic.
- Chaperoning and assisting physicians during examinations and procedures.
- Obtaining and processing prior authorizations.
- Preparing prescription renewals and answering phone calls and MyChart messages with RN support.
- Collecting specimens, ordering, stocking, and maintaining exam rooms.
- Providing administrative support to the clinical team under the supervision of the physician or advanced practice provider.
- Education: High School diploma or GED preferred; or
- Graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hrs of clinical experience.
- Completed an Adult Education Medical Assistant program with 6 months of clinical experience.
- 1 year of clinical experience in a multi‑provider practice (equivalent experience evaluated on a case‑by‑case basis).
- License/
Certifications:
Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, or NCCT certification preferred or to be achieved within one year; current BLS certification required or to be obtained within 30 days of start date; NH Medical Tech License or NH EMT and National Registry EMT license required for positions in New Hampshire. - Experience: One year as a Medical Assistant or 6 months with certification.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited vocational program, community college, or university in the field of health sciences or a health‑science student with required clinical experience; or
- Completion of an MA program without a clinical externship.
- Completion of a health‑vocational program with patient‑facing component.
- Completion of the CTA apprentice program or equivalent experience.
- License/
Certifications:
Current BLS certification required within three months of hire. - Experience: Not formally required; experience evaluated on a case‑by‑case basis.
