Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring a Senior Sterile Services Technician for a Full Time, 2nd shift role in Charlottesville, VA!

Hours are primarily from 230p to 11p Monday to Friday with Rotating weekend Call.

Call Hours are from 7am to 7pm hours.

Sign on bonus of up to $5,000 available for qualified candidates!

Duties include:

The Central Sterile Services Technician I is responsible for the decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and preparation of surgical instruments, medical equipment, and supplies used in patient care. This position operates and maintains sterilization equipment according to established procedures and standards. Examines medical equipment for defects and reports faulty equipment to appropriate personnel.

About the department:

Performing an average of 7,000 cases each year, the Operating Room at SMJH has 8 OR suites and offers a variety of service lines including Complex GYN, Neurosurgery, Vascular/Thoracic and Orthopedic surgery. It is also the 2nd highest-performing OR in the Sentara system for Orthopedic total joint procedures.

Sterile Services include 16 team members with an experienced leadership team.

Education High School Graduate or equivalent required

Certification/LicensureBLS within 90 days of hire Required Experience Ability  to transition between tasks efficiently required

Team work and communication skills requiredEVS, Acute hospital experience or Hospital inventory experience, preferred.#Talroo-allied health

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $21.50 - $32.83 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
