Franklin County Suicide Prevention Coalition (FCSPC) Manager Position Description

The mission of Mental Health America of Ohio (MHAOhio) is to transform how people think about mental illness, make it easier to get help, and give people the support they need to get better and stay better. The FCSPC works to prevent suicide through education, awareness, and community partnership. It is a community-based, multi-sector coalition that brings together individuals and representatives of organizations throughout Franklin County. Revitalized in 2018, FCSPC continues to grow its role as a recognized suicide prevention leader and resource for Franklin County.

The FCSPC Manager coordinates day-to-day coalition operations across committees and Action Teams, including member engagement, community education and training, communications, progress tracking, and administrative systems.

Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM (flexible in consultation with supervisor), averaging at least 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday. Some travel may be required. Opportunity for hybrid in-office/at-home remote work. Some weekend/evening hours may be required. Exempt position. Reports to the FCSPC Director.

• Maintain ongoing communication with Action Team Chairs and members, track progress toward established objectives, identify technical assistance needs, and coordinate responses to challenges
• Provide guidance and technical assistance to Action Team Chairs in developing, implementing, and evaluating their action plans
• Support implementation of FCSPC’s collective impact approach by coordinating communication and work across committees and Action Teams
• Maintain current Coalition bylaws and ensure member leadership processes—including terms, elections, leadership transitions, and succession planning—are carried out accordingly
• Oversee member recruitment and onboarding, including developing and maintaining related presentations and materials
• Track engagement and follow up with inactive members
• Coordinate implementation of the Annual Membership Survey
• Recommend and coordinate professional development opportunities for members
• Coordinate annual member appreciation efforts

• Manage and promote the FCSPC Speakers Bureau, respond to presentation requests, and connect requestors with appropriate speakers
• Obtain and maintain Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) Instructor Certification and facilitate QPR and/or other designated suicide prevention presentations and trainings for general community audiences
• Maintain fidelity to training curricula and comply with applicable credentialing requirements
• Collect and analyze Speakers Bureau and training evaluation data to support continuous quality improvement
• Support the Youth Program Manager with coordination and delivery of the Sources of Strength secondary program, including serving as a co-trainer and assisting with relationship development and technical assistance as needed
• Coordinate the planning and implementation of FCSPC educational events in collaboration with the FCSPC Director and coalition volunteers
