The Senior Medical Director II is the scientific services team lead for assigned accounts. This individual is responsible for the overall team development of promotional medical education materials, which may include review or creation of slide decks for conferences or educational programs, advisory board materials, panel discussion guides, experiential programs, and other relevant content. The role is client‑facing, providing senior scientific oversight for the broader team, supporting new products and technologies, and managing junior staff.

Extensive knowledge of medical communications and pharmaceutical processes, as well as strategic therapeutic and landscape expertise, is essential.

• Develop, write, and update content for educational materials.
• Oversee direct reports: assign and direct resources for projects, ensure accuracy and quality of deliverables, provide leadership, training, oversight, and mentorship.
• Partner with internal team and provide onsite support at key meetings or events.
• Understand the competitive landscape for the therapeutic space(s).
• Drive the development of overall strategic direction and planning for assigned clients.
• Coordinate with scientific management team and attend internal/external meetings.
• Interact with and provide scientific support to clients.
• Support new business efforts as directed.
• Travel required.
• Home‑based (remote) or NYC Office location (candidate’s choice).

• Minimum of 6‑7 years medical writing experience, preferably in a health‑care marketing or communications agency.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including presentation abilities.
• Ability to understand complex scientific and medical literature.
• Experience developing medical communications materials such as slide decks, advisory boards, speaker bureau materials, brochures, and training.
• Ability to relate to a wide variety of audiences and simplify abstract ideas.
• Works effectively within a team, including internal and external partners.
• Experience managing direct reports.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Master of Science, PhD, PharmD, or equivalent.
