What makes this problem different from most of healthcare is that the tools to solve it do not exist. The clinical protocols, the measurement science, the precision medicine, the technology to deliver coordinated longitudinal outpatient care for this population. None of it has been built. Amae Health is a Series B, venture-backed Public Benefit Corporation that delivers specialty outpatient care for people living with severe mental illness, including schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar I disorder, and treatment-resistant depression. We design and operate high-acuity, in-person clinics across the United States.

Our model integrates psychiatry, therapy, primary care, dietitians, and community health workers under one roof to deliver coordinated, longitudinal care for a population that has historically been fragmented across systems.

We are hiring a Part-Time Virtual Mental Health Therapist (Fully Licensed or Associate‑level) to support our members across California
. In this fully virtual role, you'll deliver personalized, compassionate, high-quality group therapy to individuals living with serious mental illness (SMI), working as part of an interdisciplinary care team.

The schedule for this role is three days a week, mornings and evenings, plus additional time for documentation and administrative work.

You'll lead virtual group therapy for a panel of complex SMI patients across California, delivering evidence-based, holistic, wrap‑around care. You'll work side‑by‑side with fellow therapists, psychiatrists, primary care providers, dietitians, and community health workers who share responsibility for the same patients, and you'll have access to ongoing training, supervision, and mentorship in evidence-based SMI care through Amae's academic medical center partnerships.

• Lead virtual group therapy. Facilitate engaging, clinically effective virtual groups for adults living with SMI, creating an environment that supports participation, connection, skill‑building, and recovery.
• Provide individual therapy. Deliver individual psychotherapy when indicated as part of a member’s overall treatment plan.
