The American Heart Association’s Internship Program provides college students an opportunity for hands‑on experience in various facets for individuals interested in gaining work experience with a non‑profit, voluntary health organization.

• Time Commitment: 20-25 hours per week
• Internship Duration: 1/25/27-5/7/27 Must be available to attend an in‑person event on February 22nd, 2027, in Dallas, TX.

• Salary: $23.00 per hour

• Complete an internship that enriches your academic and professional resume as well as enriching your personal life by making a difference in the lives of others.

• Responsibilities include assisting with execution of a Patient‑Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI)-funded project. This project seeks to develop a framework for patient engagement in research for heart and brain health.
• Support planning and execution of grant reporting and administration
• Support meeting and event planning with key stakeholders and volunteers
• Working with the AHA staff, leadership, research investigators and patient partners, inform the development and timely completion of key project deliverables.
• Collaborate with internal partners across evaluation, science, research administration, and program implementation teams.
• Assist with volunteer management and communications

• Candidates who a re seniors or graduate students pursuing a degree in public health, pre‑med, or a related health science field.
• Must be comfortable with volunteer outreach (phone calls & emails to volunteers).
• Experience/interest in health research.
• Experience with project management
• Clinical experience is a plus
• Demonstrated skills in effective one‑on‑one and group communications and comfort with working professionally with all levels of community leaders, volunteers, and staff.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment managing multiple priorities involving multiple entities.
• Intermediate to excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Must be available to attend an in‑person event on February 22nd, 2027, in Dallas, TX.
• Required Equipment:
  Reliable WiFi Connection.
• Minimum availability of 20 hrs/wk, M-F between the hours of 8:30am-5pm.
