Occupational Therapist; OT

Big Minds, Tiny Hands is seeking a compassionate and motivated Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide home-based Early Intervention services to children from birth to age three with developmental delays.

This is a fee-for-service position offering flexible scheduling and the opportunity to work directly with children and families in their natural environment. The OT will deliver individualized, family-centered services focused on improving functional skills and supporting overall development in alignment with each child’s Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP).

• Provide occupational therapy services in the child’s home or community setting
• Implement individualized treatment plans based on IFSP goals
• Address areas such as fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-help skills, and play skills
• Use play-based, routine-based, and evidence-based intervention strategies
• Incorporate caregiver coaching to support carryover of skills

• Conduct evaluations and re-evaluations as assigned
• Complete session notes daily in compliance with Early Intervention requirements
• Prepare and submit progress reports within required timelines
• Monitor child progress and adjust interventions as needed

• Educate families on strategies to support development in daily routines
• Maintain consistent communication with caregivers regarding goals and progress
• Provide hands-on guidance to support independence and participation

• Collaborate with service coordinators and multidisciplinary team members
• Follow all New York State Early Intervention Program guidelines
• Ensure timely and accurate submission of documentation and required forms
• Maintain compliance with billing and service delivery standards

• Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy
• Experience working with pediatric population (birth to 3 preferred)
• Strong organizational and communication skills

• Experience in Early Intervention or home-based services
• Knowledge of sensory integration and developmental milestones
• Bilingual (Spanish or other languages) is a plus
• Familiarity with EI documentation systems (e.g., Provider Soft)

Type: Fee-for-Service (1099 or W-2 based on agency structure)

Schedule: Flexible, based on provider availability
