MISSION STATEMENT:
The Nutrition Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Children Services team in planning and administering nutrition services.
TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ESSENTIAL:Treat participants, fellow staff and community members with positive regard.
Administer the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP)/USDA.
Complete CACFP Annual Application and enter meal count on MyIdahoCNP.
Serve as the nutrition advisor and training & technical assistance support to staff, parents and volunteers.
Administer, monitor, and provide follow-up support for required trainings including Civil Rights and Meal Pattern Requirement Training.
Attend CACFP required training as well as online trainings to ensure compliance with regulations.
Collaborate with and utilize the services of other nutrition agencies.
Develop monitoring plan and training for food service staff and center supervisors on pertinent CACFP regulations.
Tracking and communication of religious food accommodations.
Perform CACFP inspections and meal observations. Provide follow-up support and training as needed.
Complete yearly Nutrient Brand Survey, Market Brand Cost Comparison, and Food Vendor Price Comparison.
Provide on-going monitoring and technical assistance to staff, ensuring that appropriate and timely provision of nutrition services are provided to children participating in the program.
Participate in the ongoing program evaluation & planning process, and nutrition self-assessment.
Monitor and manage the Nutrition Work Plan through coordination activities with staff and community resources.
Collaborate with Health and Nutrition Specialist on yearly menu revisions.
Collaborate with other leadership staff to ensure that the program maintains the highest quality services.
Participate in an individualized continuing education plan including CPR and First Aid.
Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS ESSENTIAL:Bachelor’s degree in related field
Willingness to continue education and professional development
Minimum three years of experience in CACFP monitoring regulations
Working knowledge of the CACFP Idaho Nutrition Manual
Ability to interpret and comply with Head Start Performance Standards and standards of conduct
Administrative skills necessary to organize and monitor
Knowledge of software programs such as Word, Excel and Power-Point
Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written methods.
Coordination and planning skills necessary to develop an effective liaison relationship with community
resources
Ability to operate a motorized vehicle
Complete criminal record check from Department of Health & Welfare’s Criminal History Unit prior to
consideration for hire
