Pathology Medical Coder; Hybrid-Remote

General Description:

In this role, you will support daily coding operations, ensures accuracy and compliance with all billing regulations, and drives continuous improvement in coding quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions

• Review Reports :
  
  Examine pathology reports to identify relevant information.
• Assign Codes :
  
  Use coding systems like ICD-10-CM and CPT to assign accurate codes to diagnoses and procedures.
• Ensure Accuracy :
  
  Verify that all codes are accurate and comply with current regulations and guidelines.
• Collaborate :
  
  Work with billing departments and healthcare providers to resolve any discrepancies or questions.
• Stay Updated :
  
  Keep up-to-date with changes in coding standards and healthcare regulations.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum of three (3) years of medical billing experience; surgical pathology coding preferred.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and medical billing platforms.
• Ability to work independently.
• Computer skills

Education Requirements

High School Diploma/GED CPC, CCS, or equivalent coding certification preferred
