The State of New Hampshire, Department of Safety, Division of Fire Standards and Training & EMS has a full-time vacancy for a Public Safety Informatics Specialist (Program Specialist III), SOC Title 13-1110 MANAGEMENT ANALYSTS-2. This position has a 40 hour work week and is considered non-exempt.
SummaryCoordinate and conduct data querying, extraction, integration, and analysis to support informatics workflows and the development of evidence‑based reports, policies, procedures, regulations, and system performance enhancements within public‑safety and epidemiologic domains. Provide technical expertise and operational support to local, state, and federal partners.
YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTSEach additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation/
Experience:
Bachelor's degree and 1 year of experience OR equivalent combination of 5 years of education and experience after completion of high school. Education and experience must be in business, administration, data analysis, healthcare, public health, emergency management, statistics, informatics, epidemiology or program evaluation or related field.
License/Certification:
Valid driver’s license.
Other Requirements:
Must pass a fingerprint based criminal background check and motor vehicle record check in order to ensure suitability for exposure to confidential information.
Trainee Option:
Not applicable.
Experience in public safety or a healthcare field, including certification by the National Registry of EMTs or nursing or health informatics.
Thorough understanding of how data is stored, structured, and queried in relational databases and its uses in informatics
Working knowledge of Power BI, R, or other formal data query tools, including connecting to data sources, building data models, designing dashboards and visual reports.
Experience working with public safety (Fire/EMS), medical codes (ICD-10, SNOMED or RxNorm) or other large, complex operational datasets
AFTER-HIRE REQUIREMENTS:
One year of in-office work required prior to eligibility to apply for partial weekly remote work schedule. Remote work location, if approved, must be located in New Hampshire.
