ReNew Life Recovery Services is seeking a compassionate and dependable Qualified Mental Health Professional Adult (QMHP-A) to join our growing behavioral health team in Danville, Virginia.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with adults, building strong therapeutic relationships, and helping individuals develop the skills and supports needed to achieve greater stability and independence.
At ReNew, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing person-centered behavioral health services to individuals with mental health, substance use, and co-occurring needs.
What You Will Do- Provide skill-building, supportive counseling, and behavioral health interventions within your scope of practice
- Assist adults with developing coping skills, daily living skills, symptom-management strategies, and community supports
- Help clients work toward individualized service and recovery goals
- Participate in the development and implementation of individualized service plans
- Monitor client progress and document services accurately and on time
- Provide care coordination, linkage, advocacy, and community resource support
- Identify barriers to treatment and help clients develop practical strategies to address them
- Collaborate with therapists, psychiatric providers, peer recovery specialists, nurses, case managers, and other members of the treatment team
- Participate in treatment-team meetings, case consultations, and care coordination
- Support crisis prevention and appropriate escalation when safety concerns arise
- Maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, and high standards of client care
- Follow applicable Virginia DBHDS, DMAS, organizational, and CARF requirements
- Current Virginia QMHP-A registration or qualification appropriate for the position
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a qualifying human services or behavioral health field
- 1-3 years of behavioral health experience preferred
Experience working with adults with mental health and/or substance use needs - Strong documentation and organizational skills
- Ability to build professional, supportive relationships with clients
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently while remaining an effective member of a treatment team
- Reliable transportation when community-based services are required
- Experience in psychosocial rehabilitation or community-based behavioral health
- Experience working with adults with serious mental illness
- Co-occurring mental health and substance use experience
- Virginia DBHDS program experience
- Virginia Medicaid or DMAS experience
- Crisis intervention experience
- Case management or care coordination experience
- Experience working within a CARF-accredited organization
$27-$32 per hour
Compensation will be based on experience, credentials, relevant behavioral health background, and overall qualifications.
