We are seeking a compassionate, motivated, and collaborative Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our growing outpatient clinic in Bakersfield. Working under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist, you'll help patients of all ages achieve meaningful communication goals while building your clinical skills alongside an experienced and supportive team.

Position Summary

The Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) works under the supervision of a licensed Speech
- Language Pathologist to provide speech and language therapy services in an outpatient clinical setting. This role focuses on implementing individualized treatment plans, supporting patient progress, collecting treatment data, maintaining accurate documentation, and collaborating with patients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals to promote successful communication outcomes.

Therapy Implementation
  • Provide direct speech and language therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Speech
    - Language Pathologist.
  • Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the supervising SLP.
  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions in the outpatient clinic.
  • Utilize evidence-based intervention strategies to address speech, language, cognitive- communication, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders within the SLPA scope of practice.
  • Support patients in developing communication skills that improve participation in home, school, work, and community environments.
  • Reinforce therapeutic strategies introduced by the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Encourage patient and caregiver participation to maximize treatment outcomes.
Data Collection & Progress Monitoring
  • Collect accurate treatment data during therapy sessions.
  • Monitor patient progress toward established treatment goals.
  • Report patient performance and observations to the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Assist with preparation of progress documentation as directed.
  • Work closely with supervising Speech-Language Pathologists to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, caregivers, physicians, educators, and other healthcare professionals, as appropriate.
