As the General Manager
, you will be the captain of this monumental launch. Supported by MML’s robust home-office resources, you will own the pre‑opening strategy, financial performance, brand delivery, and ongoing operations of what is destined to become Aspen’s premier luxury boutique destination. This is a career‑defining opportunity for a visionary leader to introduce a new standard of hospitality to one of the world’s most competitive luxury markets.

Originally founded in 1954, the Mountain Chalet is a beloved cornerstone of the community. Our top‑to‑bottom transformation honors classic European‑style ski lodge roots while introducing the pinnacle of modern luxury. The reimagined property will feature:
- Elevated Accommodations: 59 beautifully redesigned, luxury guest rooms and suites.
- Premium Amenities: A brand‑new luxury wellness spa, kids club, and outdoor thermal pool spaces.
- MML Culinary Destinations: Multiple brand‑new, public‑facing food and beverage concepts—including a traditional alpine stube, a premier grill, a Japanese restaurant, and a 5th‑floor cocktail lounge destined to become the heartbeat of Aspen’s après‑ski scene.

Situated right in the heart of downtown Aspen, steps from the Silver Queen Gondola.
- Strategic Leadership: Oversee the successful launch and daily operations of the property, balancing long‑term vision with fast‑paced daily demands.
- Financial Oversight: Manage budgets, forecasting, labor costs, and revenue strategies to achieve high financial performance.
- Team Development: Lead recruitment, training, and mentoring for the management team and staff to build a high‑performing, service‑oriented culture.
- Brand Integrity: Ensure all service standards, culinary offerings, and guest interactions reflect the MML brand and "The Chalet" concept.
- Community Relations: Act as a brand ambassador within the Aspen market, building relationships with local property managers, authorities (APCHA), and community stakeholders.
- Operational Excellence: Maintain regulatory compliance, health and safety standards, and facilities maintenance.
- Experience: 10+ years of leadership in luxury hospitality, with significant experience in high‑volume mountain resort environments.
- Pre‑Opening Expertise: Proven track record of leading hotel or restaurant openings, including staffing and SOP development.
- Leadership: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to lead diverse teams under pressure.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or Business preferred.
- Technical
Skills:
Proficiency in financial reporting, P&L analysis, and hospitality management software (e.g., Restaurant 365, POS systems).
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the property for extended periods.
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Regularly required to talk, hear, and use hands/fingers to handle tools or controls.
- Vision requirements include close, distance, and color vision, as well as the ability to adjust focus.
