The RoleWe are seeking a warm, outgoing, and knowledgeable Truckee local to serve as our Occasional Guide when coverage is needed for holidays, time off, and other scheduling needs. This is an occasional role without a defined schedule. You will be a trusted driver, local concierge, and friendly host—the first and last impression our guests have as you shuttle them around town.
More than that, you will help them discover the best of Truckee, from hidden hiking trails to the best cup of coffee in the city.
- Greet and transport guests to and from key destinations in the Truckee area with professionalism and warmth during coverage periods.
- Act as a vital link between our Guesthouse hubs and home locations, ensuring timely, accurate delivery of fresh-prepped food and essentials to support a seamless guest experience across our hub-and-spoke model.
- Serve as a local expert by offering tailored recommendations, insider tips, and thoughtful suggestions.
- Build rapport with guests and help create memorable, personalized experiences.
- Ensure the Guesthouse vehicles are maintained, clean, and stocked with thoughtful touches.
- Collaborate with our hospitality team to enhance the overall guest experience.
- Stay current on local events, seasonal activities, weather conditions, and road closures.
- Deep familiarity with Truckee, Lake Tahoe, and the surrounding areas. You are the go-to person friends ask for recommendations.
- Friendly, engaging, and comfortable interacting with guests from all walks of life.
- Valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and a clean driving record.
- Prior hospitality or guest service experience is a plus, but not required.
- Self-starter with a strong sense of responsibility and pride in presentation.
- Flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and as needed for coverage.
